Since I am also a member of SACMA and are doing training and technology transfer (the South African way) in 5 active projects is India, I am requesting any assistance (nothing is too small) from my fellow SACMA members.
I am planning a trip to South Africa for two groups of Indian high ranking officials from the Eastern Coalfield Limited as early as possible in 2010.
We are doing pillar extraction at depth (120m - 400m) at these projects and are expanding at a lightning fast rate.
This trip is to familiarize the management of a mine called SARPI before their continuous miner package arrives in March.
I want them to see the full operation of a continuous miner mine, as well as visit a few underground sections where continuous miners are employed, and pillar extraction sections would be a benefit.
The visit will be for two separate groups of 8 people (all management) and each visit will be for 15 days.
I would appreciate it if there would be somebody that could make their mine available for such visit. Preferably Joy Machinery, since they bought Joy Continuous Miner packages. I would also like to show them the Klopperbos Test Facility, The Sasol Rock Engineering Training Facility, and they will obviously visit the Joy Steeldale, Joy Wadeville and Joy Smart Services Facility in Witbank. A high producing longwall can also be included.
After 7 years doing de-pillaring in India, Joy UK, Joy India and Joy Mining Services are becoming a full mining company and these visits to our SA mines would assist them to become true experts in what they do. I want this experience in SA to be an unforgettable one for them, and expose them to good mining practice and benchmark operations.
